Signage training course

Historically, our industry has not placed a strong emphasis on formal training. With the exception of a few structured apprenticeships, it is fair to say that the number and range of signage training courses available has been limited. As a result, many businesses and professionals in the signage and print sector have traditionally relied on learning through experience, often adopting a “we know what we know” mentality. While this approach has served the industry well for many years, the landscape is changing – and the value of structured training is becoming increasingly clear.

Increased profitability and improved operational efficiency

The benefits of investing in training are extensive. To start with, it enhances the overall confidence and competency of the workforce. In a sector that continues to evolve with new materials, technologies, and production methods, staying informed through training helps ensure that businesses remain competitive. Well-trained employees are more capable of delivering high-quality results, which not only improves customer satisfaction but can also lead to increased profitability and operational efficiency.

Training isn’t solely about technical skills or product knowledge. It also offers an opportunity for team members to come together, share ideas, and discuss practical experiences. This collaborative environment encourages problem-solving and fosters innovation within the workplace.

Building a stronger, more capable workforce

By demonstrating a commitment to training, your business positions itself as modern, forward-thinking, and professional. It signals to customers that you are staying current with the latest industry developments, and it communicates to your staff that you value their personal and professional growth. In a marketplace where reputation matters, this can be a powerful differentiator. Adopting a more training-focused approach isn’t just about improving skills – it’s about building a stronger, more capable workforce and a more resilient, successful business.

As part of our long-term growth strategy, we made a conscious decision to invest in our team. Having a wealth of experience within the organisation doesn’t mean that we know everything, nor does it mean that it is easy to translate that knowledge into easy-to-understand training. Dedicated training for our industry is few and far between, but luckily it has Sam and the MIH team. The training offered is engaging, insightful and targeted. We now routinely send new recruits to MIH as part of our induction process, which has improved the speed at which our recruits develop.
